A: I work as the Program Director for the Statesville Recreation & Parks Department and a lot of our focus is on helping grow events to strengthen our community. I’ve always enjoyed going to music festivals and I was excited about the idea of helping to bring a new music festival to Statesville.
Q: How long have you been involved?
A: I have helped out with the music at the Carolina BalloonFest for the past couple of years, and I started working with Carolina Roots MusicFest when the planning began for the 2016 event.
Q: What are you most anticipating about the festival on May 19-20?
A: I’m most excited about hearing some great music and I’m really looking forward to this year’s lineup of musicians. We’ve also added some really cool aspects to the event like the Hops Garden, morning yoga, disc golf, a vendor/artisan area, and some really great food trucks. It’s going to be an amazing weekend! It’s great to be able to offer an event like this right here in our community for our neighbors, and hopefully attract a bunch of folks from out of town as well.
Q: What's your favorite type of music?
A: I like a little bit of everything, but I’m primarily drawn to Americana, Bluegrass, The Grateful Dead, and pretty much anything that they play on The Little Toe & Frankie Show!
